And here is another upcycling DIY project finished this week. 🙂 A chic looking nightstand with a marble look.
Luckily I had some leftovers of the marble vinyl adhesive, so I didn’t have to buy a new one. Because that’s the only thin you will need for such a project.
The other thing you’ll need is a piece of furniture you want to transform. I had found this cubical shelve which needed a makeover. 😀
So, firstly you need to clean the piece of furnitur you want to apply the vinyl adhesive on. You can use water with soap and a damp cloth or window cleaner. Do this to remove the grease and other dirt from the surface. Otherwise the adhesive will not stick so well on the furniture’s surface.
Then apply a small section of the vinyl adhesive on the surface and strike it with your hand. Do this to also get rid of air bubbles which can appear while applying. Go on with this procedure all the way round the outer sides. If you like, you can apply the vinyl adhesive on the inside as well. (I wanted to keep the wooden look on the inside to have a contrast with the outside.)
Because I want to use the “new” furniture as my nightstand, I applied four self adhesive felt surface protectors. Now I can move this furniture easily around without any scratch.
Arranged some decor on top of it, added a green plant and voilà… très chic! 🙂
‘Till next time and stay chic,
