We all know that unhealthy habit we have when it comes to having a sweet snack during the day… right? 😀
But we want to stay healthy and don’t fall back into unhealthy habits and buy stuff which does’t really help you.
So, in case you don’t want to just bite into apples the whole day… just for guilt sake, here is an idea to bring in a bit of variety.
What about this tasty homemade apple snack? It’s perfect to store, transport (office or school) super yummy and of course healthy: cinnamon apple chips.
You’ll need: 3 apples, ground cinnamon (and honey).
Firstly, peel the apples and slice each one of them in thinly slices. Preheat the oven at 150°C. Cover a baking tray with baking paper and place the apple slices on the baking paper. Sprinkle with 1/2 ground cinnamon.
Put the tray with the apples in the oven and bake them at 100°c for 2 – 3 hours or until crisp. It’s up to you how crispy you like them.
After taking them out of the oven, let them cool while on the tray. In case you love honey, like I do, you can use it to add some more sweetness to this snack.
In case you want to store some of these snacks, you can do so by using an airtight container for up to one week at room temperature.
