This weekend I wanted to create something colourful 🙂 . And due to the trip to the Netherlands, I’ve been inspired by a Dutch artist, named Piet Mondrian. An abstract, small painting was my goal.
For this painting you’ll need:
- white paper
- small painting brush
- acrylic paint (blue, red, yellow)
- black marker
Firstly, use the ruler and the pencil to draw vertical and horizontal lines. You can vary the thickness of the lines, if you like.
Afterwards, colour the boxes which you created, in different colours. When you fill the boxes, make sure that you apply the colour running in one direction. That means, just from left to right – or from right to left. By doing this, the brush strokes give a uniform look to the painting.
Let your painting dry for around one hour. Then, use the black marker and the ruler to fill in the vertical and horizontal lines.
Last but not least, glue the painting on a thicker paper to make it more stable. (I used a grey cardboard.)
And voilà, your artwork is ready to be displayed 🙂
Have fun, trying out. ^_^
